Every one in the Council is a Councillor Chief, and adds a beard to the Buffalo, using silk through the nostril, of the color he is entitled to. The Medicine Man adds a criss-cross of his color from left eye to right nostril, and right eye to left nostril. THe Head Chief wears, in addition to the beard, a horned shield. On the circle of the shield is engraved the totem of the Tribe.
